A dreadlocked Celt? A Rhythm and Blues fan who plays traditional Irish folk? It seems that Brisbane's Dan England is the ultimate contradiction.
But Dan's individuality, combined with an obvious gift for singing, makes him one of the more interesting characters in our Top 13. As soon as Dan cruised through the hectic audition process, he left his old job at the service station behind. Every time we hear this intense performer sing, that decision becomes more and more justified. After losing 50 kilo and transforming his physical appearance, Dan is obviously capable of meeting challenges and there's no greater challenge than Australia's toughest singing competition. As a multi-instrumentalist and member of band, Bejesus, Dan has pursued his musical dream with great passion. With faultless renditions of songs by hero, Otis Redding, Dan has managed to evade the criticism of our judging panel and become a favourite of viewers around Australia.
