Aussie Idols play Coast

By RENAE DYER IF Shannon Noll had his way he would move to the Sunshine Coast in a heartbeat.
So it’s no wonder the 30-year-old country boy was ecstatic when he returned to the Coast last night to perform with local star Dan England at the Nambour Civic Centre.

Shannon and Dan have belt out seven shows in the last seven days as part of their national tour.

And fans were struggling to get their hands on tickets as the Nambour concert sold out prior to the date.

Last night Shannon showcased hits from his first album, That’s What I’m Talking About and his latest double platinum record, Lift.

His revisit to the region reminded the husband and father of two why he fell in love with the Coast in the first place.
“It would definitely be a beautiful place to live, that’s for sure,” Shannon said.

“I was contemplating moving down to the Coast before my career took off, just because of how beautiful the place is.”

But his love for music has held him back from pursuing his love for the Coast.

“The trouble is I’ve got to be in Sydney while I’m flat out at the moment otherwise I’d be flying up all the time,” he said.

“It’s terrific in Queensland everywhere, I think Queensland has been the most supportive of any of the States.

“The first tour I did in Queensland was just off the scale, it was amazing... I couldn’t believe it and the crowds go off up here. We always have a lot of fun up here.”

Having his favourite Australian Idol contestant for 2005 by his side only added to the excitement of the Nambour show.

“Mate, Dan’s got a terrific voice, he’s a really good performer, he plays guitar and he just sings perfectly,” Shannon raved.

Dan, 22, performed songs from his Australian Idol show highlights including Desperado and Unchained Melody. He also plugged into original songs wrote for him called Wrong and Perfect which will be his new singles set for release in March.

“I’ve had so much support from everyone, especially from the Coast, it has been good,” he said.

“It’s great that I have been given the opportunity for people to hear what I’m about and the response I’ve had from the crowds so far has been amazing.”

Shannon only hopes his tour will help Dan secure a record deal and see him on his way to a successful career.

“I reckon he’s passionate about what he’s doing and I was a bit disappointed for him that nothing came from the show…so it’s a second bite of the cherry for him,” he said.

Dan was forever grateful to Shannon for including him on his self-financed tour.

“He’s great, he’s really nice fella and he’s just been so supportive of me,” he said.

“He has funded the whole thing himself so for him to pick me, I’m stoked.”

After the national tour, Shannon looks to take his material internationally and in the pipeline for Dan are two original singles to be released in March and a national tour later in the year.

Maddie you must go. Its not a question of if....you really have to go. You will fall in love with him. he is just brilliant.

We should all go if possible (says me who can't this time). BUT let's al make sure we make it on his first solo tour!!

Adelaide I will go to Sydney or whatever. Cant wait but it could be a while yet.

Dam.. Never mind. Mind you I have been known to fly around the country for a concert before.

Hey everyone, read the Dan England forum to see just how great Dan went in Adelaide. (Original Melody) Even made it with big photo in the main daily newspaper here. Great article etc. Seems he is a sell out everywhere. Or rather Shannon Noll is but Dan is helping the sales up I'm sure. Thanks again to Noll for helping Dan. Maddie I know that a lot of people went just to see Dan.
You could see the difference in the crowd.

It was like.
1. Country
2. Punk
3. Lay back

I did too I must admit. I think you might recall me saying that I git tickets to The dan Concert...LOL.

But I must admit I really enjoyed Lee's Performance and I would go and see him again also.
Shannon was good but I would rather listen to him on the CD.

lolll yeah that's heaps cool how pplz juz went to see dan :dan:

and yepz i'm sure that lee harding :Lee: was also fabulous live on stage, considering he was such a hit on idol...but i still reckon dan is more talented than lee, with his didgeridoo playing, guitar playing, drumming, :music singing etc...lol dan's mah numba wun :dan :wub: :lee :huh: :P lol

Maddie no question that Dan is much more talented vocal wise than Lee, he was actually the best vocal of the concert.

And before all the Shannon and Lee fans jump on me. Both Shannon and Lee gave brilliant performances but Dans voice is Brilliant.

There were times when he had to hold the mic away from his face cos his voise is so strong. Where as the other 2 had to eat the mikes to be heard.
Lee did some terrible out of keys lines but his performance covered it well.

yepz he IS brilliant :wub: :cool :banana :wub: :dan: and yeh his voice is very strong...he had 2 hold d mic away a few times on idol too, if i recall correctly :dan :love loll
