Australian Idol's disco diva Ricki-Lee Coulter is engaged.
The singer, who rose to fame two years ago on the talent show, revealed that her boyfriend of four years Jamie Babbington proposed last week while holidaying in New Zealand.
"I was a total mess when he did it and couldn't stop crying" laughs the 20-year-old star who hails from the Gold Coast.
"I didn't expect it at all. When he did it I was sitting there in total shock for about an hour."
The pair went to New Zealand before Christmas to spend the festive season with Babbington's parents and family.
Coulter's mother Loretta and sister Jodie were also there for the celebrations.
A beaming Coulter says Jamie and her family spent a month travelling around New Zealand before heading back this week.
It was on their last night abroad when Babbington proposed to her in front of his parents and grandparents.
"We had been out to dinner and had just watched the most amazing sunset," says Coulter.
"I had just polished off my favourite meal - steak," she said, adding: "That's when he did it. It was so beautiful."
Coulter revealed she loves the white gold, princess cut square diamond ring her fiance picked out on his own.
"I have always been a diva with jewellery and in the past have worn rings on all my fingers including that finger," she said.
"But this will be the only one on there now. I will never take it off."
