The audiences were HUGE!! I got to the Canberra show, and we were advised that while we were eating in the original room, because of numbers the venue for the show had been changed. My friend and I were a little disappointed, as the original room was rather lovely, fab. stage etc.
And THEN we were taken to this massive room, where the dividing wall had also been taken down, and two screens were also up, with chairs in neat rows. I think there would have had to bee around 6-700 people there in the room.
And the whole show just went off!! Apparently it had been like that everywhere, massive crowds. In Revesby, not only huge crowd but a ton of fellas there too (missed seeing that in Canberra as we were in the front row and of course it was flat, not sloped seating). The guys were really throwing themselves into it, and I have to say that one of the nicest things I noticed in these shows that we saw was the fact that so many guys would call out "love ya Guy", while hanging on to their girl. They meant his music and him generally. That was just amazing and awesome to see. Moshpits were huge, Guy insisted on showing them the moves for the faster paced dancing segments - "don't be cute!!" and the whole vibe was like the biggest party ever.
At Revesby he performed after Ollie Sebastian had opened, and then Chris Sebastian, so we got to hear the whole musical bros. Not together, but it was interesting to note again just how fabulously talented musically the Sebastians are, and how close their vocal tones are, too. VERY enjoyable. Chris goes down extremely well with the younger crowd. "He's so cuteeee!!" Chris has the same 'funny' sense of humour and relaxed style as Guy, although Ollie's voice is closer in timbre to Guy's.
Oh, and also at Revesby - Guy had started his day at Xfactor at 9am, and got to the Revesby show around 9.15pm which was incredible, considering that the last Xfactor auditions were down for 6pm that night! Revesby's a fairway out, although prob. not as the crow fllies. Wondered if he even choppered in for it.
Anyhow here's a couple of youtubes of the show - those lucky enough to sneak a couple more shows in near the end of July, when he returns for more XFactor auditions - well, we all know he's NEVER the same. The band is awesome totally one of the best - Terapai Richmond on drums, Carl Dimataga rhythm guitar, Camilla (young dark attractive) on bass, and Adam Soto on the keys, while Sally from Hey Hey is adding violin whenever she can, outside her Hey Hey commitments.
Just adding a few youtube links from his last shows. Guy is currently judging XFactor auditions here in Australia, but he's about to return to the States for the next round of gigs & with Jordin. XFactor Australia doesn't hit our TV proper until probably around Sept.
