KATE Cook had some valuable practise leading up to tomorrow's Australian Idol performance after hitting the stage this week as part of the AFL's grand final celebrations in Melbourne.

Ms Cook joined the other top 10 competitors for a free concert at Melbourne's Federation Square, which was hosted by Australian Idol host Ricki-Lee Coulter on Wednesday.

Between her Melbourne performance and time spent travelling between Sydney and Melbourne, Ms Cook has been busy preparing for tomorrow's 80s-themed round.

The Idols have had Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock legend Ross Wilson as their special guest mentor. He will also join Jay Dee Springbett, Marcia Hines and Ian “Dicko” Dickson as a guest judge tomorrow night.

To catch Ms Cook giving her best rendition of an 80s classic tune in to Channel Ten tomorrow from 7.30pm.

Voting starts as soon as the show begins, so keen fans can begin voting by texting “Kate” to 19 10 10 until 3am Monday morning.
