"I just recently came back from New York and played for the executives of Sony Music...... and we went out and did a little showcase last Tuesday. We played for the executives of Sony. They were totally overwhelmed. And we’re just waiting by the phone. To see when they’re going to call and say “Ok we’re going to release the record in the States”." |

The BEST PLACE in NYC to see/hear the BEST TALENT in NYC 02/16/2009 Posted by bjbarratt I almost hate to tell you how great this place is...It's already too popular now. Rightfully so, and it's ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC. Ken Rockwood has managed to turn a closet into a concert hall of sound and Tommy, the booker, has a knack for booking THE BEST talent in NYC. The Regular bar staff is super friendly - it's like stepping into the perfect little sphere of live music. The only problem is that with perfection comes popularity and with popularity comes big crowds including music industry peeps - one thing that becomes a drag at the already TINY venue. A small price to pay for an intimate night with truly amazing musicians. Pros: Best sound system and mixing for live venue/ intimate/ GREAT artists Cons: Very, very small often very crowded, but SO worth it The best small music venue in New York City 12/28/2006 Posted by richardm001uk 206 East 34th Street,New York, NY 10016 http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/4166...music_hall.html |

| You don't pay to get in, instead the venue passes around a hat and collects money for the act after each finishes. |

| Guy Sebastian Wins The Tough SXSW Crowd by Paul Cashmere - March 20 2009 Remember that chicken-wire bit in the Blues Brothers movie? Well, Guy Sebastian didn’t sing behind chicken wire this afternoon in Austin but he did face a tough crowd. Let me put SXSW into perspective. You are playing to primarily an industry audience. They may or may not have heard of you when you hit that first note, but by the end of the first song you better make it matter or it’s all over. Idol was a reality TV show. SXSW is reality. It can be ruthless. You impress or they are unimpressed in your first three minutes. Today I witness Guy Sebastian capture a lethargic crowd. The audience at the Sounds Australia event had three priorities: A: drink free booze B: network with their peers C: Listen to music I kid you not; Guy Sebastian went from priority C to priority A within three songs. It is late here in Austin as a write this so I won’t get into too much detail until we interview Guy tomorrow at the Aussie BBQ. The song that fans will be interested to hear is “All To Myself”, the first single from the forthcoming album. Watch a preview of the song from Sounds Australia at SXSW in Austin, Texas March 19, 2009 and we will follow-up with Ros O’Gorman’s photos from the showcase and the interview in coming days. http://undercover.com.au/News-Story.aspx?id=7869 |
