Lee Harding's Wasabi has debuted at number one.

AdvertisementThe voting ended four weeks ago, but the real Australian Idol battle is just beginning on the Australian music charts.

Lee Harding's friendly punk persona didn't earn him victory in the television contest, but he tastes Australian singles chart success this week with his first release under the record deal he scored from Idol.

Wasabi debuts at No. 1, and Harding will be hoping it outlasts Idol winner Kate DeAraugo's Maybe Tonight, which drops to three after two weeks at No. 1.

The Black Eyed Peas' My Humps spends its third consecutive week as the country's No. 2 single.

Debuting at eight is James Blunt's new track, Goodbye My Lover, hot on the heels of his top 10 mainstay You're Beautiful.

The last pre-Christmas album chart indicates many stockings will be filled with Human Nature's Motown record this Sunday morning, after an advance of two positions makes it the country's No. 1 album.

Reach Out: The Motown Record knocks Eminem's best of release, Curtain Call: The Hits, down to two, ahead of Il Divo's Ancora.

Rounding it all off is Kate DeAraugo's hastily recorded post-Idol album, A Place I've Never Been, which sits at 10 after its first week on the shelves.
