Title: Australian Idol singer Chrislyn Hamilton
Description: says she had "fat club" with Kyle

THE Australian Idol grand final will be an all-male affair and so will the show's "fat club" after the last woman standing, Chrislyn Hamilton, was eliminated from the show last night.

The 17-year-old from Brisbane said she had unexpectedly bonded and formed a self-proclaimed "fat club'' with radio shock jock judge Kyle Sandilands, who is known for his scathing comments about the appearance of contestants.

"We established the fact that we both were fat and we made a club,'' Hamilton said.

"It was cool, it was just a joke thing we had. We're both big people so we can joke with each other about it.

"Kyle was upset (last night) that I was leaving the fat club.''

Hamilton said she coped well with life in the spotlight and never let anyone's criticisms affect her.

"I wanted to develop a love for myself before I auditioned for this show,'' she said.

"You've just got to have that love for yourself and it doesn't matter what any person says about your weight, your appearance or whatever.

"You've just got to say you're beautiful no matter what.''

Hamilton was voted out after her performance of Thriller on the Michael Jackson theme night failed to win over the judges or the public.

Hamilton said she was ready to go and left with no regrets.

"I was expecting to leave last night, and I think I was just ready to go,'' she said.

"In my performance you could see that the spark wasn't there.''

Hamilton was an audience favourite and received consistently positive feedback from the judges until her Sunday night performance.

But the self-confessed "old soul'' said she didn't feel any ill will towards judges Sandilands, Ian "Dicko'' Dickson and Marcia Hines.

"Hey, it's OK, I think I was due for some criticism, and that's fine by me man,'' she said.

"Nothing that any of the judges have said has hurt me.

"I think they're really great people.''

Hamilton's departure from the Network Ten show leaves four guys in the competition - Mark Spano, Wes Carr, Teale Jacubenko and Luke Dickens.

This means Idol will have its first all-male grand final since Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noll faced off in the first series.

Hamilton predicts it will be a fierce battle for the top spot.

"The guys are going to get way competitive now they don't have me there to keep them grounded any more,'' she said.

"I think Wes is going to win, definitely. He's flying high at the moment.''

As for her future, Hamilton said she's looking forward to writing some songs and working on making a soul and r'n'b album.

But first, she's due for some long-awaited time off at home.

"It's going to be so weird having nothing planned, nothing to do,'' she said.
