Local idol reaches for Top 12

YOUNG’S own star Luke Dickens progressed through the Australian Idol finals with ease, singing as one of the top 24 in a semi-final performed live on Channel 10 last night.
He performed against Amanda Grafanakis Brooke Wilkie, Natalie Colavito, Thanh Bui and Tom Williams.

Sportingbet Australia has Luke as a $2.75 third favourite to progress into the Top 12. Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said while Luke faced a tough battle to make the Top 12 automatically he still looked a good chance of earning a Wildcard.

“Luke might struggle to get past the popular Tom Williams and Tanh Bui,” said Mr Sullivan. “But there’s no doubting that he’s a unique character with heaps of talent and we would not be surprised to see him handed a lifeline.”

Luke has no previous experience in performing and is surprised and ecstatic about the wonderful experience he has gained so far.
