The countdown to Christmas Eve officially launched17 December 2007
Melbourne's City Square was awake bright and early this morning with the official launch of Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight™.
Joining a throng of staff and volunteers were performers Anthony Callea, Gorgi Quill, John Foreman, the Christmas Divas and the Christmas Wrappers, plus a host of elves and fairies.
Crossing live from the heart of the city was Channel Nine's TODAY Show weather presenter, Steve Jacobs.
During the half hour crosses, Steve interviewed performers, watched the Australian Girls Choir and had a chat with Santa.
Our faces of Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight™, the Law kids, were even lucky enough to sing Jingle Bells with Anthony Callea and Gorgi Quill, accompanied by John Foreman on the keyboard.
With only seven days to go until the main event, it was a fantastic way to launch the countdown
