AUSTRALIAN Idol's inaugural winner Guy Sebastian has made the first public declaration that Matt Corby will win on Sunday night.

It’s the first time a former winner of the show has come out and declared a winner just days before the showdown.

Sebastian told the media today that both Matt and Nat were deserving of the title, Australian Idol 2007.

“They’re both great, but Matt will win,” he said.

Corby has already lined up a number of gigs for his post-Idol career, signing up for a number of high profile appearances before Christmas.

The budding pop prince has been a bookies favourite from the start of the show, despite weathering a number of controversies throughout the season.

I think it was a good result though. I wouldnt want a very young person to go through what Casey went through.

As long as they don't go and release some big thing of Matts before Christmas - let Nat have her day.

I like the fact they are both doing the show (thats right isn;t it, Matt is support for Natalie?)
