AUSTRALIAN Idol hopeful Tarasai Vushe has been branded "just weird" by the show's latest evictee Daniel Mifsud after he revealed her diva antics had put the young singer off side with housemates.

And in a bitchy day for the Channel 10 show, judge Ian `Dicko' Dickson was also the target of a spray by critics who canned his debut performance on US prime-time TV.

While Dicko's gig on the judging panel of The Next Great American Band has well and truly put his Aussie colleague Mark Holden's nose out of joint, his straight-talking has riled US critics.

Despite the show's lacklustre start in the ratings, Dicko drew attention for his performance and told to "please, go back to Australia'' by one media commentator.

TV critic Marc Berman from Mediaweek in the US turned the tables on the Aussie, writing "the last thing I think any of us need, particularly at the end of a long work week, is to hear Australian judge Ian 'Dicko' Dickson speak to the contestants like they are dirt.''

Dicko was unavailable for comment yesterday, as he prepared to jet back to States for the show's second episode - and potentially more poor reviews - this Friday.

Meanwhile, Daniel Mifsud has revealed he took on Tarasai Vushe over her treatment of other contestants during a recent press call.

Mifsud played down the confrontation yesterday, but confirmed to Confidential he had been forced to "call'' the Zimbabwe-born singer over her behaviour.

"Carl was having a conversation with Matt (that) had nothing to do with Tarasai and Tarasai just shoved her hand in Carl's face and was like, "Dont talk, just shut up la, la, la,'' he said yesterday.

"It wasn't a one-off situation so I just thought I had to scare her and put her on her heels.''
