More than 400 comments flooded in this morning, with the overwhelming majority supporting Hines in her stoush with fellow judge, former pop star Mark Holden.




The two verbally sparred on Sunday night's show after Holden heavily criticised popular contestant Ben McKenzie, who has since been booted from the show.

"I think that Marcia shouldn't go because her role in the panel is crucial," Donna from Sydney wrote.

Another reader, from Victoria, said Hines was "the pillar of the show". "Her honest and carefully chosen comments have made young talent seekers find the correct path of their careers even if was not in the singing."

Readers were also quick to criticise Holden and his role on the panel.

"I really don't get the validity of having Holden there anyway, I mean, what are his current qualifications for his placement on the panel?" a reader wrote.

"As for that no hoper M. Holden who calls himself a singer, I scoff at that because he only had one hit which I though was quite pathetic and drab."

The support flooded in after Hines suggested she may leave the show after this season, due to friction between the judges.

"I'm leaving because I don't like being in company that don't (sic) like me, Mark," Hines told Holden during an interview on fellow judge Kyle Sandilands' radio show.

Hines is seen as the mediator on the panel among brutal male judges Ian "Dicko" Dickson, Sandilands and Holden.
