Australian Idol judge Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson believes former navy trumpeter Carl Riseley is the most marketable competitor on the Network Ten talent show.
The influential judge believes Riseley has used the show to brand himself as an artist better than any of the other contestants.
“I know there are promoters out there who’d put on a show for him because they’d know what they’ll be getting,” says Dickson.
“I’m speaking from a marketer’s point of view and that’s the reality. One of these guys in seven weeks’ time will be the responsibility of Sony BMG and so someone will have to market them.”
Bookies however are not so impressed with the 24-year-old. In fact he is slated by Sportingbet Australia’s Betting Manager Bill Richmond as one of the three contestants to leave the show this week.
“Take your pick between Marty, Carl and Daniel. It would be a huge shock if one of these three didn’t go,” says Richmond.
Carl and Daniel are perennially in the bottom three, while Marty has struggled throughout but does have a strong fan base.
