CD review - Damien Leith
This album has only recently reached the stores and another Australian Idol is up and running.
Damien Leith was the winner of the previous series of the so-called reality show.
Not being a watcher of the program I can’t comment on where Damien started and how far he has come.
But for anyone to get a quality album out is a good thing. It’s an enjoyable collection of tunes.
It’s mainstream music, and there’s no denying Damien has a lovely voice, as the vocals in All I Want Is You proves.
The album features 22 Steps, a heartfelt tune, as is Beautiful and Shine Like the Sun.
Whether he’s singing from experience or not, Damien knows how to pen a popular love song. Easy listening, I think this is called.
The majority of the songs were written by Damien and he’s included links to his place of birth, with Danny Boy.
As Damien said: “I’ve always loved this song as I grew up listening to it at every family gathering, and now that I live away from Ireland, it means even more to me.”
While it seems we’re already looking for the “next big thing”, fingers crossed this compilation doesn’t prove to be a one-hit wonder for this singer/songwriter.
