DEAN GEYER [SONY BMG]
Rating *
The best thing that Dean Geyer had going for him was his s-e-x appeal. He was Idol's resident hottie. So why does this cover shot make him look like a skinny shouldered pre-pubescent boy? His stylist needs a bitch slap to bring them back to reality!
As for the music, well wake me up when it's over. It's safe, uninteresting, bland pop rock best summed up by Geyer's questionable sleeve notes. He thanks 'awesome God', entrusting himself and everything he does into "Your hands and [I] surrender my life for Your will". Yikes! The Planetshakers have taken control of his life! The real punch is the shout-out to his mates who he soon hopes to be polishing off Evian and Skittles with backstage at Rod Laver. How very rock 'n' roll.
