Lochie Daddo - Biography
Lochie Daddo - television presenter
Lochie Daddo thought the producers had the wrong Daddo when he was approached to star on It Takes Two! While brother Cameron has previously released an album, Lochie says he’s never really thought about turning to music himself… until now. “I think we need to use the words ‘singing abilities’ very loosely,” he says.
But as someone who describes himself as “never really doing things by halves”, we are certainly expecting some big effort from this born entertainer. “I’m looking forward to seeing whether there really is a rock star buried somewhere deep inside,” he admits, adding, “I’m pretty nervous and apprehensive, but a little excited too.”
Throughout his successful career, Lochie has worked as an actor, reporter and presenter for all the major networks, on everything from entertainment news to current affairs including Let’s Do It, 'E' News, Entertainment Tonight, The Today Show, Animal Hospital, Getaway and even a guest role on Neighbours.
In addition to TV, Lochie has also worked extensively in radio, print media, stage and in the corporate world as a video presenter, guest speaker and master of ceremonies for conferences, special functions, product launches and award ceremonies.
He has hosted corporate and training videos for numerous major Australian corporations including Qantas, the NRMA, the Commonwealth Bank and Telstra and as a spokesperson for the 40 Hour Famine.
Today Lochie’s time is divided between hosting Home Life Style, producing and hosting television and training groups and individuals with some of Australia’s leading companies in the art of presentation.
He also spends as much time as possible with his wife Karina Brown and their baby daughter Daisy, two, who is one of the reasons he’s on the show. The devoted dad says he can’t wait “to sing in tune to my daughter”.
Lochie is supporting Bear Cottage which is the first children's hospice in NSW. It is a place where children with terminal illnesses and their families can stay from time to time and receive rest and medical care in a home-like environment. “Bear Cottage does an amazing job for kids with terminal illness. Gives respite to not only them, but also their families. I’ve been closely involved with them for about 5 years.”
Paulini - Biography
Pop Singer/Songwriter
Raised in an extremely close-knit family, Paulini says that the values and strong sense of self-worth her parents instilled in her have given her the confidence to pursue her own dreams and not just follow the pack.
However it was a bribe by her father to coax the shy, ten-year-old Paulini on stage to sing in a church talent quest that was the fateful beginning of a promising new career, her angelic voice belying her tender age and moving the entire congregation to tears.
The promising young singer quickly seized any opportunity she could to hit the stage and perform. Singing in school choirs and talent quests led to starting her own band, MIXX, cutting demos and doing session singing when she was just seventeen. She had just finished recording the national anthem for the 2004 South Pacific Games album, when she auditioned for Australian Idol.
With her angelic soulful voice, Paulini was heralded as one of the most promising upcoming Australian performers and vocalists. It has been quite a busy few years for the soul-dynamo who celebrated her strangle hold on the top of the Australian ARIA Charts with her debut Platinum album, One Determined Heart and her Platinum smash single Angel Eyes, both hitting the number one spot (debut single remaining at the top of the charts for six consecutive weeks!)
In 2005, having supported three successful national tours in 2004-05 with Tina Arena, Human Nature and Guy Sebastian, audiences and critics alike agree Paulini’s stage presence is a force to be reckoned with!
In 2007, the singer/songwriter released her second critically acclaimed album Superwoman spawning three singles Rough Day, her self-penned So Over You and the soulful I believe. Australia’s Dreamgirl then joined forces on the Double Platinum smash, Young Divas spawning two consecutive top five hits and a national sold out tour!
We say goodbye to Lpchie and Paulini, the first pairing to be eliminated.
