Hi,
You, the fans, have spoken. Kate DeAraugo has been crowned Australian Idol for 2005. But you knew that... you watched her win.

How about some things you might not know? There's been a fair bit happening in Idol land so we thought we'd drop you a note to keep you up to date.

Kate DeAraugo has just released her debut single 'Maybe Tonight', not surprisingly (in our humble opinion) it's gone straight to the top of the ARIA charts. If you want to hear a quick sample for free then click here.

Lee Harding - he of the tropical fish hair - has been signed up by SonyBMG and released his first single - 'Wasabi' (with a great cover version of "Eye of the Tiger" as the B-side). Check out the single and the video on Lee's website.

Dan England will be accompanying Shannon Noll on his 2006 national tour as supporting music act. The 'Lift' tour will be the first time that the Australian public will be able to see Dan performing live in concert.

After his recent success at the 2005 ARIA Awards (highest selling single in 2005 - "The Prayer"), Anthony Callea has rugged up and gone to the Northern Hemisphere on a song writing trip to work on material for his second album. SonyBMG has also just released a DVD of Anthony performing live in concert in Melbourne. The DVD features all of the hits from his #1 debut album. Click here to check it out.

Guy Sebastian is in the final stages of finishing his second - as yet untitled - album. Shannon Noll has delivered the second track from 'Lift'. And Casey Donovan just performed for the first time solo in Melbourne.

EVENTS TO LOOK FOR:

- Casey Donovan is performing at the Sandringham Hotel (02 9557 1254) on Wednesday 14 December 2005.
- Shannon Noll will be performing at the Carols in the Domain in Sydney on December 17; and
- Anthony Callea and Guy Sebastian will be performing on Christmas Eve at Melbourne's Carols By Candlelight at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Both events will be broadcast live on tv.

That's about it for now. Have a great and safe Christmas and New Year.

Cheers

The Australian Idol team

Just a footnote from me....This is Guys third album...Tsk Tsk...

Thanks Rhonda, good to see they're all doing well :D

Hmmm, i've noticed that in all these official Aus Idol things they never seem
to mention anything about Ricki-Lee.. I wonder if its because idol is based around
sony/bmg and she signed with an independent label??? Just something i've noticed :P
