This week, reality TV was all about Sanjaya Malakar. The 17-year-old warbler from Seattle finally got booted off American Idol, ending judge Simon Cowell’s feud with voters and starting a new round of conspiracy theories.


Sanjaya Malakar’s hair-raising American Idol days are over.


Many bloggers are questioning how the popular contestant could have received the fewest number of votes this week, when he had never even landed in the bottom three before.

Some are even suggesting American Idol producers, furious with well-known Malakar-backers Howard Stern, votefortheworst.com and Perez Hilton, finally had enough and sent the kid packing.

Adding fuel to this theory is Cowell’s comments regarding Sanjaya. “I know this has been funny for a while, but based on the fact we are suppose to be fi nding an American Idol, it was hideous,” the nasty judge said.

Then, when Sanjaya landed in the bottom three, a grinning Cowell predicted he’d be the one going home. “I’m beginning to sense something here.”

While many fans are wondering online if the show is fi xed, several others believe voters fi nally just woke up and began throwing their support behind contestants who have more going for them than just their ever-changing hairdos.
