DANNI Minogue has accepted a role working alongside Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne on British talent show The X-factor.
According to London's Daily Mail newspaper, Dannii was offered £500,000 ($1.2 million) to replace former Westlife manager Louis Walsh, 54 as one of the show's judges.
An X-factor insider told the Mail: "It has now been decided that Dannii will be the new judge. There was much speculation about her joining the team but she has decided to go for it.
"She has all the attributes needed to be a good judge. She is beautiful, talented and very eloquent. She will do well. The British public will not be disappointed with her.
"It was an easy decision to make, especially after her outstanding performance on Australia's Got Talent," the source said.
Dannii has enjoyed some success in the UK, with nine top-ten singles including Put The Needle On It and I Begin To Wonder.
Similar to Australian Idol, The X-factor, searches for singing talent, but also takes into account whether the contestants will appeal to a mass market of pop fans. The winner of the competition takes home a £1,000,000 recording contract.
This year the show was embroiled in a public vote scandal after it was revealed the producers had overcharged voters to the sum of £200,000. It is now being audited in an ITV review.
