Dicko to become an Aussie

IAN "Dicko'' Dickson is about to put the Australian into Australian Idol, with news he'll swear his allegiance - and not at contestants - on Australia Day.

The English-born TV personality, who recently defected from Seven back to Ten, will co-host an Australia Day concert for Ten in Canberra before he and his long-term partner Melinda Bell officially become Australian citizens the next day.

"We never actually got married. So both of us have decided we want to commit to this country,'' Dicko told TV writer Stephen Downie yesterday.

He said the citizenship capped off a love affair he's had with the country since he moved his family here in 2001.

"I've fallen deeply, deeply in love with Australia. Just the knowledge that I could keep my family here and raise my kids in what I regard as the best country in the world was just a massive, massive boost for me.''

Good old Dicko. I cant wait to see him on Idol again. I missed him.

It will be interesting to see him and Kyle together.

How do you think they will sit them. Do you think they will put them together.

I think your first guess would be better.

Mark and Dicko would need to be seperated, and I could see fireworks if Dicko and Kyle were seated together! ;)

MMMmmmmmmmmm me too, but Im wondering if Mark would give up the first spot.. :o
