SLIM Dusty's A Pub with No Beer or Under the Milky Way by the Church would be Bobby Flynn's picks to replace our national anthem.
The quirky Australian Idol crooner was in a patriotic mood after being offered a top slot at the annual Australia Day Live concert on the lawns of Federation Mall in Canberra.
And while he joked that he could belt out Advance Australia Fair except for "the dodgy second verse", the bloke who Kyle Sandilands called a mong did have a serious message for any passing pollies at the gig.
"There's a lot of s!@ going on in this country," Flynn, 25, said.
"(John Howard's) working his a!@ off at the moment, I'm sure, but there's some major issues.
"On Australia Day, I'd talk about the indigenous owners of this country and the importance of recognising and celebrating that because the history of this land is amazing."
Flynn will join acts including the Whitlams, Guy Sebastian and the Audreys in performing in the nation's capital.
