THE six remaining Australian Idol finalists came out swinging last night, as took rock classics back to the 40s, turning them into big band swing numbers.
Jessica Mauboy wowed the audience with her amazing and versatile voice on the TV singing competition.
Jess, 18, of the Northern Territory, easily upstaged several other performers with Beyonce's Crazy In Love. She was slinky personified in a black and white number that wowed the audience.
But shock jock judge Kyle Sandilands said her dress was "like an ironing board cover".
Last night's performance came on top of Jess' charity night Up Close and Personal rendition of What The World Needs Now for which she received a standing ovation.
Ricky Muscat also stepped up to the mark with his Beatles' classic I Saw Her Standing There, which judge Mark Holden could only describe as: "Well, well, well."
Holden went on to say it was Ricky's best performance to date.
Sandilands was more circumspect, saying: "You stayed in a safe place ... held back."
I LOVE JESS.... :banana
