AUSTRALIAN Idol's latest evictee Lavina Williams wants to distance herself from her younger sister Emily, who came second in the reality TV series last year.

"I want to set myself apart from that brand of being Emily Williams' sister and I hope Australia has accepted me as an individual," the 27-year-old said after being voted off the Network Ten series this week.

Williams is adamant about establishing a solo career and has no immediate plans to sing in public with her sister.

"I will be focusing on my solo career," she said.

"I went on this show to get exposure for me, that's all I asked for and that was my exact point of going on the show.

"I just wanted to get a Sony record deal or some record deal, for someone to take notice of me as a solo artist."

Williams' Idol journey was tainted by media accusations that the singer had baked a batch of marijuana-laced muffins for castmates when she starred in The Lion King stage musical.

She denied the accusations.

"People are gullible and believe what they read," said Williams, who left The Lion King production in May.

"My family and I had been through it and dealt with it, but I knew it would surface as soon as I was in the limelight.

"Here is me trying to set a good example to my little sisters and other children ... obviously it was not true ... there are just a lot of jealous people out there who want to bring you down."

While Williams says she is "willing, ready and waiting" for a recording contract, she also is planning to start a family with her partner of 10 years, Moses Lehauli.

She hopes to to be able to show off her "bump" at the Australian Idol finale later this year.

"Can you imagine me with a big stomach at the finals?" she asked.

"It would make history and I would love that. We are ready to have a little wee one in our lives and we are trying now." - AAP
