We saw what happened last week when Chris decided to try a more composed performance, so it’s no surprise to see him rockin’ out tonight. It’s a great way to end an awesome evening, and the band is lovin’ the opportunity to play hard and loud. There’s a priceless moment when Chris sings the lyric ‘he was brutally handsome’ and delivers the smarmiest look I’ve ever seen on Idol. “You are a talented bastard,” says Mark, but then he asks for more ‘edge’. “If you did any more, you’d be hurting yourself!” says Marcia, deciding that the performance is one of the most exciting in the history of the show. Kyle is even more complimentary, judging Chris to be the most consistent of the finals group and the closest to becoming a real star.
