What a treat it was to be at Federation Square yesterday for the Australian Idol concert and to see Guy performing.

He did three songs in soundcheck:

Out of Place (with the guitar)
Elevator Love
Can't Stop a River

It was amazing to watch Guy's precision during the SoundCheck. He was giving a lot of instructions about the sound.

He introduced his sound check saying he was just going to jam with his band for a while. He interacted a lot with the other musos too.

Later on during his main set, he had mic issues! :o

During the show, Guy started off with "Out of Place". He sang that wearing his curtain jacket.

After singing it he was telling some stories about some embarrassing things that happen to him when he's nervous. Then he said something like...

When I'm nervous I do some silly things... like wearing this jacket for instance! You know 'The Sound of Music' where they have the clothes made out of curtains? ;)

He then took the jacket off.

After taking his jacket off he threw it at Gary and Prinnie... :P

After "Out of Place" he sang Elevator Love, and talked about the Ups and Downs of relationships.

Then he sang "Can't Stop A River".

Both songs were just beautiful. I hope that people in the crowd who aren't generally into Guy appreciated the artist that he is!

He sang "Taller, Stronger, Better" after talking about how excited he was that it went to #3. He thanked everyone for supporting him by getting a copy. :)

After singing "Taller, Stronger, Better", Guy turned to Andrew G and said, "I know we're already out of time, but can I do one more?"

Then he sang "Oh Oh" with some absolutely incredible, unbelievable scatting! It was brilliant. I hope someone got it on video! ;)

I only arrived there at 10am. I was about 8 people back from the stage at that point... When I got there the Divas were sound checking.

Then they announced that the Idol top 12 were signing autographs in the Atrium... and about a thousand 14 year olds went running...

Then I was about 3 people from the stage. ;)

I was very lucky to get a good spot. :)

Guy was just WOW! yesterday. I love the fed square event, its always a great day. Well, i guess cause GUY has been there both years. GUYYYYY!!! what a stunner.
He was so in control in soundcheck. I loved it. I saw how 'perfect' he can be and thats so cool.
