THE Condobolin Kid Shannon Noll has received a significant lift in his chances of cracking it in the lucrative US market by handing his affairs over to a New York-based management group.
Confidential can reveal the most successful product of Australian Idol has decided not to extend his contract with Sydney firm Caplice Management, who he has been with since emerging as the runner-up from the first series of the singing contest three years ago.
Instead the Worldwide Entertainment Group, headed by former Mercury Records big shot Dave Lory , have been assigned stewardship of the career of the man with Australia's most famous flavour-saver.
Nollsy has tried his hand at success in the US before, having put on showcase performances for music industry executives in the past in a bid to secure a release there.
But in linking full-time with Lory, a regular scout of Australian talent who has previously worked with Jeff Buckley, KISS and Shania Twain, Nollsy hopes his dream of driving his big, black shiny car into the US charts may finally come true.
The prospect of American superstardom is not exactly on his mind at the moment though, with wife Rochelle heavily pregnant with their third child.
The baby is due on October 4, a week before Nollsy heads back on the road with touring rockers Live.
"The Nolls always move fast so I'd say it's imminent,'' his former manager David Champion, of Caplice Management said.
