Deadly Nominees Announced

The nominees for the 12th annual Deadly Awards, celebrating the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, have been announced.
Comprising categories for music, sports, the arts and community, The Deadly's are Australia's night of nights for the black community. The awards will be held at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday September 21. The nation's most high-profile indigenous Australian in the entertainment industry, Ernie Dingo, is slated to host, and the night promises an exciting line-up of celebrities, music and dance.
Country star Troy Cassar-Daley dominates the nominations in the music category, picking up nods for Single Release Of The Year for 'Lonesome But Free', Album Release Of The Year for 'Brighter Day' and Artist Of The Year.
Hot urban pop act Shakaya also scored nominations for their single 'We Ain't Going Down' and their album 'Are You Ready?' and Pigram Brothers earned nominations for their 'Under the Mango Tree' album and for Band Of The Year. Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan, picked up two Deadly's in 2005 for Single and Artist Of The Year and has been nominated again this year for Artist Of The Year.
The winners are chosen by an online vote at www.deadlys.vibe.com.au.

She didnt win but there is always this year :) cause with the new EP ready to be released it will put her in a stronger position with the voting public :)
I think Troy Cassar Daley won he is deadly :)

Yes, it would have been difficult for her to win with no new release...hopefully the EP has all the success she deserves. :)
Troy Cassar Daley is awesome...I like his style of country music.

He is a great guy he was not at last years Deadly awards he was touring America. but the year Casey won best Artist and best single I walk up seen Casey was yarning to her then Troy walks out and I am like OMG grabbed the bloke on the arm and said can I please get your picture and Casey was cracking up laughing at me I said to her I love you your deadly but Troy is deadly too I so love Troy ha ha ha

LOL I think I would have done that too her is a cutie.
On Xasey new music. Gosh I really hope the public sit up and take notice. If they really listen this time I think they will be amazed.

Its just ashame she is doing the EP cause she is saving her best Original for the Album and I cant wait that long grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Skin Deep is the best of all the new Original songs.
Although I do love Shattered very catchy beat but I think she is changing it :( probably will sound better but hey I feel I already know the song considering I go to most of her Sydney Concerts lol she is better live though its amazing how much energy she has on stage bring on the next concert :) :Casey:
