Dragon fires up at PauliniSydney Confidential

POLICE have been called to a dispute between singer Paulini Curuenavuli and Dragons winger Wes Naiqama outside a city nightclub in the early hours of the morning.
Naiqama allegedly waited for the singer outside the Gas Nightclub _ where the after-party for the Urban Music Awards was being held _ and launched into a tirade of verbal abuse at her in front of a crowd of people after being thrown out for being intoxicated early on Saturday.
Despite that, the two left together and are understood to now be back together after splitting last week.
A police spokesman said yesterday a crew had been sent to Barlow St, Haymarket, at about 3.20am to find the pair in dispute.
Curuenavuli and Naiqama broke up in controversial circumstances last week after the Young Divas singer's family had complained to St George Illawarra about the player's behaviour after being made aware of a suspicious bruise on her face.
Curuenavuli and Naiqama turned up separately to the UMAs at the State Sports Centre on Friday night, with the Dragon attending with friend Anthony Mundine.
Both later moved on to the after-party at Gas - the Idol product partying upstairs in the VIP area and Naiqama downstairs.
A witness said Naiqama was thrown out and then waited for Curuenavuli to emerge.
"(He) started swearing at Paulini and a friend ... out of control, foul mouthed and drunk ... in front of everyone,'' the witness said.
"(Paulini) went with him down a side street and you could still hear him swearing his head off at her.''
Both Curuenavuli and Naiqama could not be contacted yesterday and the singer's management would not comment.
Naiqama was backed by Gas owner Chris Carroll, who described him as "the perfect guest''.
"At no time was he involved in the argument or misbehaving in any way,'' Carroll said.
"We wish all patrons were as well behaved as Wes.''
