Singapore Idol wildcard contestant Meryl Joan Lee withdraws

SINGAPORE : Seventeen-year old Singapore Idol wildcard contestant Meryl Joan Lee has withdrawn from the competition because of school commitments.

In a statement, Ms Lee said she was unable to juggle her studies and the Singapore Idol talent quest at the same time due to the rigorous schedule.
MediaCorp says there will be no replacement and the remaining seven wildcard contestants will compete for the final four spots in the Top 12.
Mathilda De Silva, Norman Then, Prmiero Ang, Gayle Nerva, Jay Lim, Choy Siew Woon and Geraldine Chua will battle it out in a performance to be shown on Channel 5 at 8pm on Wednesday.
The results will be announced at 8.30pm on Thursday. - CNA /ct
