James Valentine has an eclectic string of achievements to his name.

He is a broadcaster with 702ABC Sydney, presenting a news/talk shift each weekday afternoon from 1pm, and is also the Australian reporter for Showtime Movie News, a daily program on contemporary cinema seen nationally on Showtime.

In addition to broadcasting, James is the author of the 'JumpMan' series, three novels for young readers published here by Random House that have also been released in the USA, UK, Italy and Bulgaria.

James is a panelist on SUNRISE’s daily segment, 'All Star', each Wednesday to comment on current events.

James has written for Rolling Stone, Vogue and Cleo. He was a music reviewer for The Australian and has written feature and opinion pieces for the Sydney Morning Herald.

His media career began with ABC Television where he presented 'The Afternoon Show', a daily program for children. He then worked for 'Good Morning Australia', before becoming host and writer of 'TVTV', a show which reviewed television.

After leaving school James studied music at Melbourne State College and began working in with jazz and rock bands. He played saxophone and woodwinds with Jo Camilleri, Kate Ceberano, and Steven Cummings before joining 'The Models'. With them he recorded two No 1 hits, several platinum albums and toured the US and Europe. He went on to play with 'Absent Friends'.

James has two young children, Ruby and Roy, with his wife Joanne, a psychologist.

Must say that I think James is pretty spot on most of the time. he rarely gives above 7 points and only gives more for what he thinks is exceptional. So :Metro thumbs up to James. (so far)
