A Place I've Never Been,
Kate DeAraugoPEOPLE who don't like Australian Idol will probably steer clear of this album, which is a shame. Bendigo babe Kate DeAraugo proves, across 10 tracks in this debut album, that she has a voice that can work across a variety of styles. The opening song Faded was written by The Veronicas and Robbie Nevil and, at one stage, I thought I was listening to Kelly Clarkson. DeAraugo sounds more like Tina Arena on the ballads - a subdued cover of Bryan Adams' Heaven, while the Jewel-penned If This Is Love sounds different again. She can handle R+B too, as shown on World Stands Still and It's Obvious. I liked it for it's diversity and the strong vocals.
