Kate's our girl for Games party night

AUSTRALIAN Idol winner Kate DeAraugo will sing at The Eye's Commonwealth Games party at Boutique on Saturday night.

DeAraugo used to be a champion swimmer, and told The Eye being involved in the Games was something special.
"I was a very serious swimmer for a long time," she said.

"When I was younger, something like the Commonwealth Games was a huge dream for me.

"I was state champion, but it came to a point where I couldn't do both singing and swimming, and I chose singing."

Part of the challenge for Australian Idol graduates is having continued success, but DeAraugo is not fazed by this.

"You've just got to keep working hard," she said.

"I think you can't always be perfect. There is always going to be bad times.

"I'm thankful I've had two top 10 singles, and I'm going to keep working hard."

DeAraugo will fly down from Sydney just for The Eye's party and return on Sunday.

All the Idols have been a little quiet.
However I think we are about to get some action soon.
It was nice that Kate was asked to do this gig.

she actually volentered for this as swimming was and still is her second love
i think the true high light was when she was introduced by molly meldrum
also there is a 'anight with the star's' in sydney, hosted by dicko ( with egg on his face for saying no to Kate twice with aus idol), not sure when though

LOL at Dicko.
I think he should be happy that she has won now though.
He usually admits he was wrong.
