Ricki-Lee ... rock 'n' roll at her pace. 03feb06
ONE ex-Australian Idol is working away on her music career without the push of a big label.
Ricki-Lee's had the videos and t he Top 10 singles. But unlike a lot of her reality TV peers, she reckons she's just getting started.
In town yesterday promoting her latest single on Shock Records, Breathe , Ricki-Lee hit Colonnades for an in-store appearance. She says 2006 could be the year fans see Ricki-Lee step up the touring schedule.
"I've always wanted to get a few singles out and then do a tour," she says.
"I don't really see a point when you've only had one single.
"I wanna do the full-on shebang with a stage show and a bunch of dancers." Ricki-Lee's first single, Hell No , which debuted on the ARIA chart at No. 5, probably set her up for that kind of show.
"I speak to Casey (Donovan) and Anthony (Callea) sometime," Ricki-Lee says.
"They get signed and given their songs and told 'there it is'.
"I spent six months on my album and they get six days. That'd just be horrible."
